Myofascial Release

The John Barnes’ approach to Myofacial release is a form of therapy that addresses restrictions and imbalances of the connective tissue in the body. It is used to promote wellness, decrease or eliminate pain and restore movement. This therapy is a gentle, full-body, holistic form of bodywork and stretching techniques.

Effective For:

Range of Motion

By releasing tension in the affected areas, Myofascial release can increase range of motion without tearing tissue.

Assisting in the Tissue Recovery Process

If you’ve torn tissue in the past you know that the recovery process can at times be a long one. Myofascial practices can assist with the recovery process by increasing blood flow to the affected areas. Make sure to drink lots of water to keep your tissues hydrated!

Reducing Soreness

Reducing tissue soreness at the affected areas are a huge benefit of the Myofascial release therapy. This process is generally relaxing. You can even fall asleep as our parasympathetic nervous system is engaged.

Muscle Spasm Reduction/Elimination

At times muscle spasms can be caused from muscle tensity. By combining Myofascial release treatments with our Swedish Massage therapy we can release the muscles and surrounding tissues that can cause these spasms, and with with enough treatment even eliminate them at times.

Increased Circulation

By applying gentle pressure and stretching the affected tissues we can increase blood flow to these areas and to the whole body. Increased circulation can help deliver more oxygen to the whole body, which allows for enhanced bodily function.
